Program Description:
Buffalo Prep has been challenging its students and improving the educational landscape in the Western New York community since 1989. It has identified and met the academic, social, and cultural needs of thousands of gifted students who once found too little challenge and support in their neighborhood schools and at home. Connecting multiple levels of education, this unique enrichment program enhances the quality of life for more than 300 disadvantaged students and their families each year and serves as a stepping stone to a brighter future. We partner with area consortium private high schools and college preparatory public high schools offering nearly $400,000 in financial aid to our students each year. Buffalo Prep, in turn, provides these schools with the opportunity to take advantage of a more diverse student body, which helps all students, families and staff members forge relationships that transcend racial, ethnic and economic differences. This diversity helps to prepare all students for colleges and workplaces that are becoming more representative of America's greater diverse community. The College Prep Director and Coordinator work one-on-one with our high school students, helping them in the process of applying to colleges and attaining the best financial aid packages and scholarships possible.
