I'm First is an online community founded by Center for Student Opportunity to provide first-generation college students with support, advice and encouragement on the road to and through college. We believe that the opportunity for college exists for students who do not have a family history of higher education. I'm First is an online community offering support, advice and encouragement to students who will be the first in their family to reach this goal.
As a community outreach program, Step by Step's main goal is to encourage English-Language Learners (ELL's) at local schools to attend college. In response with the growing trend of ethnic minorities in the area, the program targets Spanish and Marshallese speaking students. Even thought the target population is high school students, we offer some educational activities to junior high and middle schools as requested by school administration officials and other community organizations.
