Program Description:
: Educational Talent Search (ETS), is one of the Federal TRIO Programs, originally authorized by Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965. Educational Talent Search is designed to improve college access for income-eligible and first-generation college students. The program identifies youth that possess college potential where neither parent graduated from college with a baccalaureate degree. Then, Talent Search will work with these students and their parents to support their successful high school completion, encourage them to pursue post-secondary education, assist them in completing admissions and financial aid requirements and follow through with students until graduation. The program provides academic, career, college admissions and financial aid counseling for students and parents. All participants are advised to enroll in a post-secondary educational institution of their choice.
