Program Description:
The Upward Bound Project at Arizona State University (ASU) is a federally funded college-preparatory program that serves high school students who are either low-income and/or who will be the first in their family to earn a four-year college degree. Upward Bound's mission at ASU is to assist students with graduating high school, entering college, and earning a Baccalaureate degree. Mission Statement:
To generate in participants the academic skills and motivation necessary to graduate from high school, enter and complete a program of post-secondary education.
Objectives:
(1) Participants earn high school course grades necessary to enter post-secondary institution of their choice. (2) Participants will achieve proficiency on state assessments. (3) Participants who enter Upward Bound remain in high school till they graduate. (4) Participants will complete a rigorous program of study while in high school. (5) Participants will enter a post-secondary program of study. (6) Participants will complete a post-secondary program of study.
