Program Description:
The Educational Opportunity Center is a program of the College Board funded by the U.S. Department of Education. The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) is a free program committed to providing student and adult DC residents with high-quality information, guidance and counseling. Our primary focus is on economically disadvantaged adults, dislocated or displaced workers, and low-income individuals who wish to gain access to financial aid, career information, or education programs in order to reach their full potential. The Washington, D.C., Educational Opportunity Center has been engaged for more than 50 years in a significant effort to break the vicious cycle of poverty by helping economically disadvantaged citizens of our nation's capital make the transition from secondary to postsecondary education.

Mission Statement:
To increase the number of D.C. residents who enroll in postsecondary institutions by providing effective counseling services to foster postsecondary enrollment.
Objectives:
Secondary School Diploma - 3% of participants who do not have a secondary diploma will receive a secondary diploma or is equivalent during a the project year;
Financial Aid Application - 40% of college ready participants will apply for financial aid during the project year;
Postsecondary Education Admissions - 40% of college ready program participants will apply for postsecondary admissions during the project year;
Postsecondary Education Enrollment - Enroll 40% of college ready program participants in a postsecondary education during the project year
