Program Description:
Bowdoin College Upward Bound is a federally funded TRiO program serving over 100 low-income, first-generation college-bound high school students each year. The program and its staff works closely with students through school year outreach (college and academic counseling, financial aid counseling, fee waivers, college tours, and cultural enrichment opportunities) and a six week residential summer program on the Bowdoin College campus. Designed to provide academic preparation and enrichment as well as college campus experience, students are encouraged and given support to reach for their dreams while systematically breaking down the barriers to college that low income, first generation students face.
