Program Description:
College Access Center of Delaware County The College Access Center of Delaware County (CACDC) is CHECâs first initiative, having opened its doors in 2009. Through the collaborative efforts of CHEC, the six colleges and universities have provided physical space, furnishings and equipment, as well as human resources in administration, information technology, institutional research, and development to the CACDC. The CACDC serves the City of Chester and Delaware County high school students and adults, placing a strong emphasis on those underserved, by providing free college preparation services. Services range from college and career awareness, study skills development, tutoring, mentoring, and assisting high school seniors and their parents with the college financial aid process. The mission of CACDC is to provide educational support services to individuals of all ages throughout Delaware County by inspiring the hope that a college education is attainable, supporting the requirements for college acceptance, guiding the college application and financial aid process, and furthermore, by providing direction for adults who are contemplating retraining, retooling, or returning to college. Currently in its fifth year, the CACDC has helped over 3,200 individuals pursue their dreams of a collegiate career.
