For more than 10 years, On Point for College has helped over 2000 first-generation youth to get into college, stay there, and succeed afterwards.

Mission Statement:
On Point for Collegeâs core mission is to open the doors to higher education for inner-city youth, break down the barriers that hinder potential students from entering college; and to provide the support that empowers them to succeed. The organization also has an additional programâOn Point for Jobs, which helps our students and college graduates identify and secure summer and permanent jobs through networking, resume preparation, and job fairs.
Objectives:
Our Services ■ One-on-one counseling - choosing a college, financial aid, and college applications ■ College Tours ■ Mentoring ■ Help with clothing, bedding, backpacks and college supplies ■ Orientation workshop before the first day of college ■ Advocacy and support for students on college campuses (i.e. financial aid, diversity issues, tutoring services, roommate issues, etc.) ■ Transportation to and from college on vacations and semester breaks ■ Assistance with resume building, employment applications and internships
