Program Description:
Indiana University Bloomington and College Advising Corps (CAC) are partnering to meet high school students where they are. By placing near-peer college advisers in underserved Indiana high schools, we are helping students imagine their future and make a plan. Through this partnership, we place recent IU graduates into underserved high schools to serve as full-time college advisers. They collaborate with principals, counselors, and teachers to ensure that all seniors, regardless of their circumstance, have a postsecondary plan. Our near-peer college advisers guide high school students and their families through the college search, standardized test prep, campus visits, applications, essay writing, FAFSA completion, scholarship research, and the successful transition to post-secondary education.
