Program Description:
Rhode Island Educational Talent Search (RIETS) is a federally funded program that identifies, prepares and assists low-income, first-generation students with the financial aid application and college admission process, essay writing, exposure to college campuses and programs, academic and personal counseling. Most of our students must be low-income and first-generation. Our program services 11 middle and high schools in Rhode Island.

We at Rhode Island Educational Talent Search are committed to promoting the value and benefits of higher education to middle and high school students. We encourage our students to remain and excel in school, graduate, and enroll in a postsecondary institution by providing an array of high quality educational support services. The Vision of Success for Rhode Island Educational Talent Search (ETS) is equal educational opportunity for all Rhode Islanders regardless of race, ethnic background or economic circumstances. In support of this commitment, ETS helps low income and potential first generation college, Rhode Island students graduate from high school, enter college and to participate more fully in society.

To encourage and support students so that they will 1. Successfully complete the academic year and be promoted to the next grade level 2. Successfully graduate from high school 3. Complete a rigorous secondary school program of study 4. Enroll in an Institution of Higher Education 5. Attain a post-secondary degree
